How to Use FretMaster

🎵 Scale Selection

Use the dropdown menus to select your root note and scale type. Choose from major, minor, pentatonic, and modal scales to explore different musical colors and sounds.

🎯 Position Practice

Select different positions (1-5) to practice scale patterns across the fretboard. Each position shows the same scale notes in different areas of the neck.

🎨 Color Coding

Notes mode: Red dots for root notes, blue dots for scale notes
Scale Intervals mode: Rainbow colors - red (root), orange (2nd), yellow (3rd), green (4th), blue (5th), indigo (6th), white (7th). Flattened intervals show as shaded colors halfway toward the previous color.

🎸 Interactive Features

Click any note on the fretboard to hear it. Toggle between note names and interval numbers for theory study.

🎼 Harmonized Chords

Below the fretboard, see the chords built from each scale degree. Basic triads and extended 7th chords show the harmonic possibilities of your chosen scale.

🎯 Triad Practice

Use the string group filters (Strings 1-3, 2-4, 3-5, 4-6) to focus on specific three-string combinations for targeted triad practice and voice leading study.
